Our approach
Connection before correction.
Our therapeutic model is not a programme bolted onto care. It is the way the whole home thinks, talks and responds.

The framework
Trauma informed and attachment aware, in plain terms.
Trauma informed care simply means we assume there is a reason behind the behaviour we see. A young person who pushes everyone away has usually learned that closeness is not safe. Our job is to be the steady exception to that rule, for as long as it takes.
Attachment aware practice means relationships are the method, not the backdrop. The same adults, showing up the same way, day after day, is what slowly rebuilds trust.
ARC and PACE
A shared language for the whole team.
Our practice draws on the ARC framework, attachment, regulation and competency, which gives the team a shared way to understand what a young person needs and in what order. Day to day, that is delivered through PACE.
Connection before correction
What happens when things go wrong.
It means we do not lead with consequences. We help a young person feel safe and regulated first, then, from that steadier place, we help them make sense of what happened and what could be different.
Connect
Help the young person feel safe. Someone stays.
Regulate
Settle the moment. Calm before words.
Reflect
Make sense of what happened, together.
Boundaries
Boundaries still matter. They simply come after connection, not instead of it.
Make contact
If a young person needs a place like this, let us talk.
We welcome enquiries from commissioners, social workers and families. Tell us a little about the young person and we will respond carefully and promptly.
